Bandsaw Blade Types

Select your blade

Choosing the right bandsaw blade doesn’t have to be difficult if you know the basics. Yet if you pick the wrong blade, you won’t get precision cuts, so check out this quick guide to help dial in your bandsaw for the perfect cut, whether you’re cutting tight curves or resawing a thick hardwood timber for maximum yield.

ShearForce Bandsaw Blades

Made in the USA to exacting standards, the Laguna ShearForce blade features a .024” carbon steel backing with unique 3-4 TPI variable tooth spacing. The net result is a smooth cutting action with significantly reduced vibration. The ShearForce blade line is compatible with nearly any bandsaw, and turns your saw into a precision cutting machine. Excellent for general ripping, gentle curved cuts, or resawing work.

Available in ½-1” blade width, with a 5 raker set and +6 degree angle, the ShearForce delivers exceptional cut quality every day in the shop. Be sure to grab the right blade length for your saw, such as 115” for the popular Laguna 1412 or 14BX models.

ProForce

ProForce: Everyday Hero.

Made with Swedish silicon steel, the ProForce is available in an incredible assortment of widths from 1/8” to 2”, with pitch from 1-14 TPI. Like the ShearForce, the ProForce features a 5 raker set and +6 degree tooth angle.

Resaw King

The King is Crowned

Or grab a Resaw King for the smoothest cuts you’ve ever seen slicing veneer. Featuring a 0 set and +6 degree tooth angle, it’s available in blade widths from ½”-2”.

A special 18-16-14mm variable tooth spacing was developed for the Resaw King, for unprecedented cut quality. Plus, the re-sharpenable carbide-tipped teeth on the Resaw King will keep cutting true, on average 10x longer than plain steel blades.

Resaw Beast

Resaw Beast

Resawing wafer-thin veneers is the single biggest challenge for a bandsaw. Try this with a dull or poorly designed blade, and you’ll get barrel-shaped cuts, and aggravatingly slow cutting speed. Yet a Resaw King makes tall resawing seem effortless – even on maple hardwood. The carbide tipped teeth and wide gullets quickly evacuate sawdust for increased feed rate. Plus, the ingenious variable tooth spacing virtually eliminates blade flutter and optimizes blade harmonics – a key factor with tall resawing.

Numbers dont lie

Numbers Don’t Lie

Ever dream of slicing hardwood so thin it’s nearly transparent? I didn’t think it was possible until I spun a Resaw King on my bandsaw. The carbide-tipped teeth simply stay sharp longer, for ultra-precise cuts, even in the most demanding resawing applications.

Be Consistent

Be Consistent

Imagine the yield from your prized hardwood collection with the incredible Resaw King. Cut stacks of veneer for miles of project parts, with a consistently amazing cut quality. Only Resaw King adds that much value to your woodworking process.

Or choose Laguna’s Bi-Metal blades, made from M42 steel for industrial grade wood and metal cutting. In fact, if you do much metal cutting, check out Laguna’s 14CX variable speed bandsaw.
